Rare earth market update on June 10, 2026
The overall domestic rare earth market is relatively stable. Against the background of a basically balanced supply and demand pattern and no significant news releases in the industry, product prices are generally adjusting within reasonable ranges, with sporadic transactions being limited. Currently, the prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide, praseodymium-neodymium metal, erbium oxide, and dysprosium-iron alloy are consolidating at around RMB 697,000/ton, RMB 850,000/ton, RMB 440,000/ton, and RMB 1,320,000/ton, respectively.
In the short term, supported by production costs, the industry generally expects the market to continue its sideways trend. However, in the long run, the rare earth market is still expected to heat up, mainly due to the rapid development of downstream rare earth industries such as new energy vehicles, robotics, smart home appliances, and wind power generation. China Galaxy Securities pointed out that the main crystalline phase of high-capacitance and high-voltage MLCC ceramic powder for AI servers is barium titanate, which needs to be modified by doping with rare earth materials such as high-purity dysprosium oxide to obtain ceramic powder with excellent insulation resistance, good reduction resistance, and high and stable dielectric constant. At the same time, the rare earth doping concentration in the powder affects the material's dielectric-temperature characteristics and service life.
Data from the China Construction Machinery Industry Association shows that from January to May 2026, the domestic and international sales of major products in the construction machinery industry both achieved rapid growth compared to the same period last year. Among them, the sales of new energy construction machinery maintained a good momentum, with exports of electric loaders from January to May reaching 1,232 units, increased by 208% year-on-year. From January to May, China sold a total of 126,875 excavators, increased by 24.7% year-on-year. A total of 67,162 various types of loaders were sold, increased by 27.3% year-on-year.
