Rare earth market update on May 29, 2026
This week, the price trends of mainstream light and heavy rare earth products in China were somewhat differentiated. The prices of praseodymium and neodymium first declined and then rebounded, while the prices of terbium and dysprosium continued to decline. In the light rare earth market, at the beginning of the week, affected by the market’s poor performance and fewer inquiries from magnet enterprises, suppliers rationally adjusted their quotations downward; approaching the weekend, due to increased inquiries from downstream customers and strong cost support, the mainstream product prices rebounded to some extent, but transaction volume still has greater room for increase. In the middle and heavy rare earth market, downstream demand has been below expectations for a prolonged period, combined with suppliers’ funding pressures, the market has a strong willingness to sell and cut prices, and the prices have declined accordingly.
According to the statistics from CTIA GROUP, the price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide decreased by 17000 RMB/ton, a drop of 2.41%; the price of praseodymium-neodymium metal decreased by 0000 RMB/ton, a drop of 2.33%; the price of terbium oxide decreased by 20000 RMB/ton, a drop of 0.33%; the price of dysprosium oxide decreased by 30000 RMB/ton, a drop of 2.34%; the price of 55N NdFeB blanks decreased by 4 RMB/kg, a drop of 1.41%; the price of NdFeB waste (praseodymium-neodymium) showed no obvious fluctuation.
