According to data compiled by Chinatungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, in April 2026, China's imports of tungsten products (excluding cemented carbide tools and tungsten halogen lamps) totaled 2,598.18 tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 135.85% compared to April 2025 and a month-on-month decrease of 3.43% compared to March 2026; the import value reached RMB 1.370 billion, up 777.58% year-on-year and up 11.10% month-on-month.
In April 2026, China imported:
Tungsten ores & concentrates: 2,445.21 tons, a year-on-year increase of 178.91% and a month-on-month decrease of 6.94%.
Tungsten trioxides: 17.81 tons (249 kg in the previous month and only 20 kg in the same period last year).
Other tungsten oxides & hydroxides, nes: 5 kg, a month-on-month increase of 150% (1 kg in the same period last year).
Tungsten hexafluoride: 40.53 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 32.85% and a month-on-month increase of 12.12%.
Sodium tungstate: 35.00 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 75.75% (0 recorded in March).
Calcium wolframate: 47.34 tons, a month-on-month increase of 268.86% (no record in the same period last year).
Carbides of tungsten: 3,531 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 75.76% and a month-on-month increase of 162.53%.
Ferro-tungsten: 75 kg, a year-on-year increase of 102.70% and flat month-on-month.
Tungsten powders: 5,740 kg, a year-on-year increase of 312.65% and a month-on-month increase of 337.50%.
Unwrought tungsten, including bars & rods obtained simply by sintering: 27 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 97.15% and a month-on-month decrease of 74.29%;
Tungsten wire: 314 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 34.17% and a month-on-month decrease of 53.62%.
Bars & rods, exclude those obtained simply by sintering; profiles, plates, sheets, strip, foil: 162 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 67.54% and a month-on-month decrease of 94.23%.
In addition, in April 2026, China imported:
Knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides, coated or plated: 97.02 tons, a year-on-year increase of 51.51% and a month-on-month increase of 11.24%.
Other knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides: 56.92 tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.94% and a month-on-month decrease of 33.67%.
