1. Analysis of China’s Rare Earth Price Trend in April 2026
According to CTIA GROUP, in April 2026, the price trends of mainstream light and heavy rare earth products in China showed significant differences: the prices of praseodymium-neodymium first increased and then decreased, while the prices of dysprosium-terbium remained sideways. In the medium and heavy rare earth market, under the circumstances of suppliers’ low willingness to reduce prices for sales and buyers’ high degree of consumption caution, the prices of mainstream products showed no significant fluctuations in April. However, some individual products were driven by the warming trend in the light rare earth market, resulting in price increases.

In the light rare earth market, from early April to late April, affected by the significant decline in praseodymium-neodymium prices in February, increased downstream purchasing activity at low prices, rising oil and gas prices, significantly higher transaction prices of concentrates in northern China in the second quarter, and expectations of tighter supply in the future, praseodymium-neodymium prices fluctuated upward. By the end of April, due to the large price increases earlier and slow downstream demand follow-up, praseodymium-neodymium prices gradually fell from high levels. In April, the price of praseodymium oxide increased by approximately RMB 70,000/ton, increased by 8.92%; neodymium oxide increased by approximately RMB 70,000/ton, increased by 8.97%; praseodymium-neodymium oxide increased by approximately RMB 50,000/ton, increased by 6.90%; praseodymium-neodymium metal increased by approximately RMB 60,000/ton, increased by 6.74%.
2. Average Prices of Rare Earth Products in April 2026

Among them, the average price of praseodymium oxide was RMB 826,905/ton, decreased by approximately 3.46% month-on-month, increased by 83.63% year-on-year; neodymium oxide RMB 820,476/ton, decreased by approximately 3.48% month-on-month, increased by 84.64% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium oxide RMB 772,476/ton, decreased by approximately 1.33% month-on-month, increased by 81.37% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium metal RMB 942,286/ton, decreased by approximately 3.12% month-on-month, increased by 79.72% year-on-year; terbium oxide RMB 6,110/kg, decreased by approximately 2.10% month-on-month, decreased by 11.39% year-on-year; dysprosium oxide RMB 1,379,048/ton, decreased by approximately 5.72% month-on-month, decreased by 16.90% year-on-year; dysprosium-iron alloy RMB 1,354,762/ton, decreased by approximately 5.32% month-on-month, decreased by 16.58% year-on-year.

From January to April 2026, the prices of most rare earth products in China decreased month-on-month. The average price of praseodymium oxide was RMB 802,886/ton, increased by 79.08% year-on-year; neodymium oxide RMB 797,582/ton, increased by 80.56% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium oxide RMB 754,089/ton, increased by 75.79% year-on-year; praseodymium-neodymium metal RMB 923,899/ton, increased by 74.96% year-on-year; terbium oxide RMB 6,226/kg, decreased by 2.75% year-on-year; dysprosium oxide RMB 1,436,203/ton, decreased by 14.67% year-on-year; dysprosium-iron alloy RMB 1,405,696/ton, decreased by 14.64% year-on-year.
