According to data compiled by Chinatungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, from January to March 2026, China's imports of tungsten products (excluding cemented carbide tools and tungsten halogen lamps) totaled 8,082.06 tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 110.89% compared to the same period in 2025; the import value reached RMB 2.719 billion, up 458.48% year-on-year.
From January to March 2026, China imported:
Tungsten ores & concentrates: 7,810.02 tons, a year-on-year increase of 169.31%.
Tungsten trioxides: 34.67 kg, a year-on-year increase of 535.29%.
Ammonium paratungstate: 4,980 kg, compared with only 5 kg in the same period last year.
Tungsten wire: 1,374 kg, a year-on-year increase of 36.85%.
Bars & rods, exclude those obtained simply by sintering; profiles, plates, etc: 4,762 kg, a year-on-year increase of 175.74%.
Tungstic acid: 10.75 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 24.59%.
Other tungsten oxides & hydroxides, nes: 6 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 99.99%.
Tungsten hexafluoride: 89.48 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 26.23%.
Sodium tungstate: 39.12 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 94.50%.
Carbides of tungsten: 4,710 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 69.66%.
Tungsten powders: 8,474 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 43.88%.
Unwrought tungsten, including bars & rods obtained simply by sintering: 137 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 87.95%.
Calcium tungstate: 73.16 tons, Ammonium metatungstate: 1 kg, Ferro-tungsten: 196 kg, all with no recorded imports in the same period last year.
Additionally, from January to March 2026, China imported:
Knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides, coated or plated: 209.76 tons, a year-on-year increase of 28.82%.
Other knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides: 189.45 tons, a year-on-year increase of 55.03%.
