According to data compiled by Chinatungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, in March 2026, China's imports of tungsten products (excluding cemented carbide tools and tungsten halogen lamps) totaled 2,716.56 tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 144.90% compared to March 2025 and a month-on-month decrease of 7.30% compared to February 2026; the import value reached RMB 1.220 billion, up 144.90% year-on-year and up 38.74% month-on-month.
In March 2026, China imported:
Tungsten ores & concentrates: 2,653.81 tons, a year-on-year increase of 210.86% and a month-on-month decrease of 5.19%.
Tungsten trioxides: 249 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 55.85% and a month-on-month decrease of 98.93%.
Other tungsten oxides & hydroxides, nes: 2 kg, a year-on-year increase of 100.00% and a month-on-month increase of 100.00%.
Tungsten hexafluoride: 36.15 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 21.43% and a month-on-month increase of 46.71%.
Calcium tungstate: 12.83 tons, with no recorded imports in March 2025 and a month-on-month decrease of 68.18%.
Carbides of tungsten: 1,345 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 10.39% and a month-on-month increase of 5.41%.
Ferro-tungsten: 75 kg, with no recorded imports in March 2025 and a month-on-month decrease of 17.58%.
Tungsten powders: 1,312 kg, a year-on-year decrease of 84.46% and a month-on-month decrease of 67.92%.
Unwrought tungsten, including bars & rods obtained simply by sintering: 105 kg, with no recorded imports in March 2025 and a month-on-month increase of 228.13%.
Tungsten wire: 677 kg, a year-on-year increase of 113.56% and a month-on-month increase of 179.75%.
Bars & rods, exclude those obtained simply by sintering; profiles, plates, etc: 2,810 kg, a year-on-year increase of 353.96% and a month-on-month increase of 444.57%.
Additionally, in March 2026, China imported:
Knives and cutting blades, for machines or for mechanical appliances, of metal carbides, coated or plated: 87.22 tons, a year-on-year increase of 60.15% and a month-on-month increase of 46.84%.
