Rare earth market update on March 26, 2026
The domestic rare earth market is generally maintaining a sideways trend, with prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide decreasing by approximately RMB 5,000 per ton, dysprosium oxide decreasing by approximately RMB 10,000 per ton, and dysprosium iron alloy decreasing by approximately RMB 20,000 per ton.
From the supply side, due to continuously low downstream demand and rare earth manufacturers maintaining normal production pace, the current market spot supply is relatively loose. However, in the long term, under the circumstances of rapid development of emerging industries and the aging of mine grades, the supply of mainstream rare earth raw materials such as praseodymium-neodymium may tighten in the future.
From the demand side, in the short term, there is limited room for recovery in downstream demand. However, in the long term, the market demand for rare earth functional materials is expected to gradually increase.
