Rare earth market update on March 23, 2026
On Monday, domestic rare earth prices remained stable in some areas, with individual prices experiencing a rebound. Among them, the price of praseodymium-neodymium oxide increased by approximately RMB 5,000/ton, gadolinium oxide rose by approximately RMB 2,000/ton, dysprosium oxide increased by approximately RMB 20,000/ton, and ferro-dysprosium alloy rose by approximately RMB 10,000/ton. According to CTIA GROUP LTD, recent product price declines have forced some suppliers to raise their awareness of profitability, which in turn led to higher prices. Since March, the price of praseodymium oxide has decreased by about 17.70%, neodymium oxide by about 18.11%, praseodymium-neodymium oxide by about 21.05%, praseodymium-neodymium metal by about 17.27%, terbium oxide by about 6.87%, dysprosium oxide by about 14.11%, and ferro-dysprosium alloy by about 15.00%.
In terms of news, data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that from January to February 2026, the added value of high-tech manufacturing above the designated size increased by 13.1% year-on-year, contributing 31.5% to the overall growth of the industrial sector. Among them, the growth rates in the airplane manufacturing, specialized electronic equipment manufacturing, and biopharmaceutical manufacturing industries were 25.5%, 23.4%, and 16.6%, respectively. The output of high-end equipment products such as civil steel ships, medical instruments and devices, high-speed trains, and power generation units increased by 37.5%, 37.2%, 34.1%, and 21.6%, respectively. The industrial digital transformation is steadily progressing, with the added value of digital product manufacturing industries above the designated size increasing by 8.8%. Among these, the manufacturing of electronic components and equipment, as well as smart devices, increased by 12.4% and 10.6%, respectively. The production of industrial control computers and systems, 3D printing equipment, and industrial robots increased by 90.0%, 54.1%, and 31.1%, respectively. The production of electronic products such as 5G smartphones, analog chips, and LCD display modules increased by 39.2%, 24.3%, and 19.2%, respectively.
