Molybdenum market update on March 13, 2026
This week, the domestic molybdenum market performed poorly overall. Under the influence of both bullish and bearish factors, the price trends of molybdenum raw materials and molybdenum chemical products showed slight differences: the price of molybdenum raw materials stabilized initially and then decreased, mainly due to the decline in steel bidding prices, coupled with the current attractive raw material prices, which led to an increased willingness of suppliers to lock in profits and engage in price-for-volume operations; the prices of molybdenum chemical products remained stable, as the price drop of raw materials was relatively small and the supply-demand balance was fairly stable, so suppliers' quotations remained largely unchanged.
According to CTIA GROUP LTD's statistics, the price of molybdenum concentrate decreased by RMB 30/ton-degree, a decrease of 0.67%; the price of molybdenum ferrodecreased by RMB 3,000/ton, a decrease of 1.05%; the prices of sodium molybdate, ammonium heptamolybdate, and molybdenum powder remained stable; the price of molybdenum oxide decreased by RMB 0/ton-degree, a decrease of 0.66%.
