China's Molybdenum Production Decreased by 12% in 2025

According to data compiled by CTIA GROUP LTD from the United States Geological Survey, by the end of 2025, global molybdenum reserves were approximately 17 million tons, an increase of 13.33% year-on-year, with the main growth coming from China and Chile. Among them, China has the largest molybdenum reserves, reaching 7.8 million tons, an increase of 32.20% year-on-year, accounting for 45.88% of the global total reserves; Chile's molybdenum reserves were 2.6 million tons, an increase of 85.71% year-on-year. In 2025, global molybdenum production was approximately 260,000 tons, unchanged year-on-year. Among them, China's molybdenum production was approximately 97,000 tons, a decrease of 11.82% year-on-year, accounting for 37.31% of global total production; Chile's molybdenum production was approximately 42,000 tons, an increase of 10.53% year-on-year, accounting for 16.15% of global total production.
