Rare earth market update on February 26, 2026
The domestic rare earth market overall maintained high-level firm operation. With low willingness among suppliers to reduce prices for shipments and insufficient purchasing power among buyers, product prices showed no obvious fluctuations for the time being, and order growth remained relatively slow. Today, praseodymium oxide, neodymium oxide, and praseodymium-neodymium metal prices were approximately RMB 950,000/ton, RMB 945,000/ton, and RMB 1,080,000/ton respectively.
According to CTIA GROUP LTD, current mainstream rare earth product prices are at relatively high levels, downstream production enterprises generally face tight funding, and the global economic situation is complex and volatile, all of which to a certain extent suppress further increases in market demand. As of publication, since the beginning of this year, praseodymium oxide prices increased by approximately 54.22%, neodymium oxide prices increased by approximately 54.16%, praseodymium-neodymium oxide prices increased by approximately 46.38%, praseodymium-neodymium metal prices increased by approximately 45.95%, terbium oxide prices increased by approximately 8.33%, dysprosium oxide prices increased by approximately 22.22%, and dysprosium-iron alloy prices increased by approximately 23.08%.
On the news front: Data from the United States Geological Survey show that as of the end of 2025, global rare earth reserves were approximately 85 million tons, decreased by 5 million tons compared to 90 million tons in 2024, down 5.56%. Among them, China's rare earth reserves were approximately 44 million tons, unchanged year-on-year, accounting for 51.76% of the global total; Brazil's rare earth reserves were approximately 21 million tons, unchanged year-on-year, accounting for 24.71% of the global total; Russia's rare earth reserves were approximately 3.8 million tons, unchanged year-on-year.
