Molybdenum market update on February 13, 2026
The domestic molybdenum market overall maintained stable operation. With the increasingly strong atmosphere of the approaching Spring Festival, many traders have gradually entered vacation mode, leading to reduced willingness among market participants to enter the market, resulting in no obvious fluctuations in product prices and very few new orders. Today, molybdenum concentrate, ferromolybdenum, and molybdenum oxide prices were approximately RMB 4,170 per tonne-degree, RMB 271,000/ton, and RMB 4,240 per tonne-degree respectively. Currently, industry players are primarily focusing on the operation of the international molybdenum market during the Spring Festival period.
On the news front: Data from the China Iron and Steel Association show that in late January 2026, key statistical steel enterprises produced a total of 21.30 million tons of steel products, with an average daily output of 1.936 million tons, daily output increased by 3.2% month-on-month. By region, Northeast region steel product daily output increased by 19,000 tons, North China region steel product daily output increased by 23,000 tons, East China region steel product daily output increased by 19,000 tons, Central and South China region steel product daily output increased by 6,000 tons, Northwest region steel product daily output decreased by 5,000 tons, and Southwest region steel product daily output decreased by 3,000 tons.
